Obscuras was once one of the Four Gods of Law, brother to Alluminas, the God of Light. Jealous of his brother, he took the realm of Darkness for himself, and fled from Law and into Chaos. His cults are few and far between, as his worship is outlawed in the civilized lands of the South. His acolytes come from the shadows, those who feel at home in the darkness, thieves and assassins and spies of the highest orders, made all the more deadly by their Dark God’s gifts.

He has no quarrel with any of the Gods apart from his brother and the other Gods of Law. Sigmar and Slaanesh receive the same amount of attention from him, though he has links with the Great Horned Rat, and his followers are more sympathetic to the Skaven’s aims - which does not necessarily follow that the rat-kin are sympathetic to theirs.

Obscuras’ followers are charged with the destruction of Law, the snuffing out of light in this world, and bringing the entirety of existence into never-ending Shadow.

Obscuras is an unofficial Chaos God, best thought of as a minor God, even a particularly powerful Daemon Prince. His cults are few in number, and kept very much in the dark. As much as this stagnates the worship of the God himself, it gives his followers more of a life expectancy than some of the cultists of other more obvious deities.
